The thing about famous restaurants or services being sued is that it is very bad publicity that is very bad for business. In this day and age, discrimination against ethnicity and racial backgrounds is taken very seriously. It will be interesting to see how business is for Tavern on the Green in the aftermath of the lawsuit and settlement ordeal.
Tavern on the Green is a fine dining restaurant located in the heart of New York City at Central Park at West 67th Street. Tavern on the Green is known for its very unique and elegant dining rooms and great and exquisite food.
Tavern on the Green is truly an experience that any restaurant loving person would want to go to if they are ever in New York City.
My experience at Tavern on the Green was a quite interesting one. A group of friends and I decided to dine at Tavern on the Green before attending a Broadway show. We actually made reservations a few months prior to our visit to New York.
The dining room with painted ceilings and beautiful crystal chandeliers was amazing. The service was…just okay, in my opinion. Our waiter wasn’t too friendly, however he was dutiful. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy at Tavern on the Green was being asked for my id when ordering a glass of wine. Yes, I am over 21 years of age, and yes I know that it is required by law to be carded before being served a drink, but really now…it’s common practice not to ask for identification from customers (that may remotely appear to be over 21) at fine dining restaurants such as Tavern on the Green. Oh, well…
Well, what is to come concerning business for Tavern on the Green? I do not wish to give an opinion on this matter. I would rather wait to see.
“There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28. Sad to say, this ancient truth is nowhere to be seen in the modern American arena. Do we discriminate against women, blacks and Hispanics? What a strange world that we still have issues regarding discrimination. Like sexual harassment, the true victims rarely report it while the abused suffer in silence. This is a problem. Huge Problem. In my book, Wingtips with Spurs, I devote a chapter to discrimination and how it is often over-looked or swept into a dark corner. And yes, it still exists in modern America. While we pour more stupid laws into the books to prevent such painful actions, we fail to fix the real problem, that is, the root. In addition, we have been conditioned by lawyers to believe that legal and moral are the same thing. So sad. Whenever a human is treated differently than the masses, we should take a cold, hard look at the situation. A hard look indeed. Maybe even the mirror. Michael L. Discrimination is indeed a terrible and serious thing. I do not wish for these things to be overlooked also. Thanks for your thoughts on The Tavern on the Green settlement.
