The Supreme Soul dance crew, in the live auditions of America’s Best Dance Crew season 2, mentioned that they had previously battled the Jabbawockeez in a competition. Well, I was informed that the battle that Supreme Soul dance crew, under Soul Sector, was referring to was a competition that happened about 2 years ago called Body Rock 2006 that took place in San Diego, California.
Well, some of the Jabbawockeez dance crew (Kevin and Gary Kendall) were dancing for So Cal All-Stars along with Ronnie from the Super Cr3w or Full Force and Phil and Joe from Boogie Monsters. Well, it seems that the battle between Soul Sector vs So Cal AllStars was won by…the SoCal AllStars.
So, it seems that Shane Sparks asking Supreme Soul about the battle stirred up a lot of controversy from many dance battling followers. Could the statement “We took it” hurt the Supreme Soul dance crew’s image and reputation? This could spark some tension between the two dance crews.
I am sure that both Supreme Soul and the Jabbawockeez have their loyal followings, and no doubt, this may be a very touchy subject for many.
Well, it will be interesting to see how things turn out for the Supreme Soul dance crew in the America’s Best Dance Crew competition. They certainly are a talented group of dancers and choreographers, but are the rest of the other dance crews that made it past the live auditions.
I have actually read many other discussions on the internet about Body Rock 2006 and Supreme Soul’s statement on America’s Best Dance Crew. Some think that Supreme Soul has got a lot of swagger and may be a bit too cocky. It also seems that people feel the Jabbawockeez are a much more quiet dance crew that does a good job of proving themselves out on the dance floor. Whatever your viewpoints may be, the Supreme Soul dance crew will have the chance to prove to America what they are made of on the hit show America’s Best Dance Crew season 2.
