With movie ticket prices being what they are these days, I haven’t been out to a movie theater for a while. This got me thinking about the next movie that I want to see. The Dark Knight is the follow-up to the newest Batman movie, Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale as Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, and the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. But the question is whether or not to go to one of these blockbuster hit movies at the movie premiere or wait awhile after it is released to go see it in the theaters.

Before I go into the bit about when to go to the movies, I want to talk a little bit about The Dark Knight. I’m excited about the upcoming movie premiere!

If you love comics or are just a Batman fanatic, surely you are anticipating the release of The Dark Knight also. The Dark Knight is indeed the movie event of July, and perhaps even of the whole summer.

The Dark Knight is Heath Ledger’s Last Movie

Yes, The Dark Knight is the last movie that Heath Ledger starred in. Ledger’s role as the Joker is said to be a deeply haunting performance. So much that it is rumored that playing the role of the Joker even haunted Heath Ledger prior to his death.

Well, the first movie in the series simply entitled Batman Begins has set the tone for the follow up with The Dark Knight. Batman was a box office hit, and rightly so. In my opinion, Batman is the best Batman movie ever made. I was skeptical about Christian Bale, but Bale has proven to be a fine Bruce Wayne.

The Dark Knight seems to indeed be a much darker movie than Batman, and Gotham City seems to be a very morbid place with rampant crime and gangs of criminals lurking everywhere. The Dark Knight trailers and movie previews give off a very dark feeling. The soundtrack makes for very gripping, emotional, and suspenseful scenes.

From what I gather from the official Warner Bros. website for The Dark Knight, Katie Holmes will not be returning for this Batman Begins follow-up.

So get ready for July 18, 2008 because The Dark Knight is going to be a mega hit in the theaters.

The thing about going to movies that are predicted to be box office smashes such as The Dark Knight, is that the line can get rather long and the movie can get rather crowded. Standing in line to purchase movie tickets can be a pain when the line is that long, and these types of movies may draw children and teenagers that may very possibly not know how to behave properly at the movies.

The good thing about going to movie premieres is that you can see them early and brag about it. Who among your friends wouldn’t want to see The Dark Knight? If you see The Dark Knight before the rest of your friends, or even with your friends, you have bragging rights. This is a very small and minor thing, but still kinda nice.

Another good thing about going to the premiere of a movie is that no one in the movie theater has yet seen the movie. I really hate it when I am sitting near a person who has already seen the movie and blurts out a part of the movie that has not yet been played. Talk about annoying! Well, if you want to see The Dark Knight without those kinds of interruptions, movie premieres are the best way to go!

Well, it doesn’t really matter to me that much when I go to see The Dark Knight. As long as I get to see The Dark Knight without any annoying interruptions, I am good to go.
