Well, we are all always on the lookout for increasing gas mileage with the onset rising prices of fuel. But lockable locking gas caps doesn’t really seem like a method for increasing gas mileage, right? Well, if you look at it in the traditional way, than the answer is no. But, according to CNN, lockable locking gas caps have been flying off of the shelves like crazy because people have been buying these products like they were going out of style or something.

Well, if you have seen the video for the lockable locking gas caps on CNN, than you have seen the efficiency of securing your gas tank that this product offers. The gas cap is locked with a key and can only be opened with…you guessed it, a key. So, you insert the key into the gas cap’s keyhole, turn the cap and it releases it from your tank cover. If you do not insert the key, the gas cap will keep on turning and turning without opening. The great think about it is if you wish to leave your gas cap unlocked, you can do so without interfering with its ability to cover your tank.

So, how exactly do I think that lockable locking gas caps can increase gas mileage? This is the question that must be spinning in your head, right? Well, if you know what syphoning gas is, you know that it is method in which you can get gas out of a gas tank and put it into a different container. Well, the lockable locking gas cap secures your tank from people who may wish to siphon gas from you.

Thus, if you use all of your gas for yourself and do not get stole from, than the lockable locking gas cap can be said that it does a good job of increasing your gas mileage.
