Spelling Bees were always fun for me while I was in elementary school. For the children students who compete on a state and national level in spelling bees, it is not just a matter of having fun. The competitive spirit must be very high for these young ones as they do practice and study heavily on a regular and daily basis. Well, the winner of the spelling bee must feel like he or she has just conquered the world in the moment that it is announced that they have won the spelling bee. All of your hard work and time spent studying has just paid off in that very single and monumental moment. Now, let’s talk more about Sameer Mishra.
Sameer Mishra is the winner of the 2008 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Sameer Mishra is an eighth grade boy from Indiana who has just conquered the world tonight…well, that is, he has conquered the world of Spelling and the Spelling Bee. This was his fourth spelling bee, and the last one that Sameer will be competing in.
It so happens that the Mishra family has spelling bees in their blood, as Sameer Mishra’s older sister was once also a spelling bee competitor.
What was Sameer Mishra’s winning and final world? Guerdon
So, Sameer Mishra is a fine example of how hard work and studying pays off. It takes a lot of endurance to study as much as national spelling bee competitors do. While there peers are out playing and what not, spelling bee competitors are often studying. All that hard work has been rewarded with a fine reward for Sameer Mishra.
Also, in order to even compete, and much more actually win a spelling bee, no doubt this involves a lot of coordinating and support from family members and friends. This must be a very proud moment for the family and friends of Sameer Mishra.
Congratulations to Sameer Mishra and his family members and close friends. May you bask in the glory of your win, and may we all take from you that endurance, hard work, and family support are essential elements of fulfilling, not just goals of a spelling bee competitor, but goals of any kind.
