The MLB draft is what can make or break a person’s professional career, and for Justin Smoak…the MLF draft has just allowed him to enter into the big leagues!

So, congratulations to Justin Smoak and his family. I wonder how it feels like to live your dream, and in Justin Smoak’s case, his dream was probably to play baseball as this seems to be the career of his choice.

There are many paths that we can choose to take. For young one’s who are still deciding their career paths and love to play baseball, Justin Smoak must be an inspiration to them. In fact, I have a few friends myself who have aspired to be big time sports figures. Some of them have made it and some for some their interests have changed into something quite different.

So, let’s look at the pathway of Justin Smoak and use it as an example for now. Justin Smoak went to college and than entered into the MLB draft in which he was drafted by the great Texas Rangers. Which do you think would be a smart choice: to go to college before pursuing a professional baseball career, or to go straight into the major leagues right after high school?

Well, I do not know the exact thinking of Justin Smoak, but in my opinion, college and extra schooling would be a great choice because this can be used as a backup plan. Not that he has gone to college, Justin Smoak has more options. So, college may indeed prove to be beneficial even if you, like Justin Smoak, have a chosen career already.
